This season you’ll see a new name on the Army Rugby Union team shirts as British facilities management company Mitie has announced its role as principal sponsor for 2019/20.
Our sponsorship covers the Union’s four elite teams, including the Senior Men’s XV, Senior Women’s XV, Academy (under 23's) XV and Masters (over 35's) Teams. And the packed season features 43 fixtures, culminating in the two big inter-services games against the Royal Airforce (4th April 2020 at Gloucester) and the Navy (2nd May 2020 at Twickenham).
Mitie are proud, principal sponsors and strong advocates of the Army Rugby Union. To us, sponsorship goes deeper than the team just having our name on their shirts. We put social value and corporate responsibility at the heart of everything we do. When delivering our services, we look to create positive economic, environmental and social impacts. We are committed to our clients, our people, the communities in which we work and the world we live in. We’ll be taking an active role in promoting rugby and its positive effects on the wider community. And by making match tickets available to all employees at every level of the business, we ensure our pride is felt throughout our company, nationwide.
This sponsorship also cements our commitment to the Armed Forces community, as a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. Mitie has also recently been named a holder of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award in acknowledgement of our support to the military family. This support includes several new initiatives recently launched by Mitie, such as our new employee network, The Mitie Military, created to offer veteran and reservist colleagues a forum to share experiences and drive positive changes within the business. We also recently launched a dedicated career portal for those with a military background, to highlight potential job opportunities within the facilities management industry.
Charles Antelme, Head of Defence, Mitie, said:
“As proud supporters of the entire military community, we’re delighted to announce our official sponsorship of the Army Rugby Union teams. We’re looking forward to cheering them all on and are honoured to have the Mite logo on each team’s shirts.”
Brigadier Paddy Allison, Marketing Director, Army Rugby Union, said:
“We are hugely reliant on the generosity and support of our sponsors, and the principal sponsor in particular, to enable all the activities and competitions that we undertake annually. It is very exciting, therefore, to announce this new partnership with Mitie, a facilities management company that holds dear the very values that we foster in the ARU.”
